Why do I begin with new settings when i start supersauer?

Because SuperSauer stores it's data somewhere else than the original client.

The new settings will be loaded from (and saved to) "my documents/my games/supersauer" instead of "my documents/my games/sauerbraten". 

So when you do want to transform your old configuration, you can copy your "config.cfg" inside "my documents/my games/sauerbraten" into "my documents/my games/supersauer" and all your old settings are back. 

(This explanation is for Windows.)

I have Texture Errors on Windows 8, what can I do?

That's a bug apparently. Copy over all files from "my documents/my games/supersauer" into your sauerbraten-directory (the installation path. I.e. "C/Program Files (x86)/Sauerbraten").

Then everything will work ok again.
